TYPICAL DESIGN PROCESS
WHAT WE DO:
Over the years Petri Building and Design has helped clients achieve the suitable form and function for their design needs, totaling thousands of square feet. Some of our projects have included new homes, residential remodels, equestrian designs, corporate offices, daycare centers, education facilities, fitness centers, auditoriums, medical facilities and cafeterias.
We start with initial meetings to get to know the client and their needs. We explore the space requirements, the orientations, the interaction with adjacent spaces and the overall look/feel desired. We weigh the scope against the projected budget.
With that initial information, Petri Building and Design will propose a work flow and approximate cost analysis. Once commissioned, we develop conceptual designs, material boards or specifications per the project type.
After a review meeting, we then work toward design development . At this stage, we further develop the layout, selection or overall design scheme. We try to integrate specified materials or products per the review and initial analysis.
The developed design is then discussed and refined as needed. Upon approval, the design goes to construction documents and/or development. During this stage, the design is further refined, materials and details are designated and any required engineering is implemented. The final documents are sent for review. Any minor changes can then be made or the construction documents are ready for submittal to the proper authorities for permits.
If not already selected, the contractors and specialists will be interviewed and then bid requests can be sent out to the appropriate professionals.
